Making of This Museum

Why a museum

Most portfolios are a grid of thumbnails. You scroll, you read a paragraph, you close the tab. Nothing has a place of its own.

A museum asks you to walk. It puts one work in one room and lets it take up space.

What the rooms mean

  • The door shows nothing. You have to walk in to see anything. Attention is a gift, and I would like to be worth it.
  • The floor plan is a blueprint. You choose where to go, instead of scrolling a feed.
  • Each room is coloured for the work inside it. The light and the floor are part of the piece.
  • The label opens from the side, so the work stays visible while you read about it.
  • The archive holds the unfinished things. A museum that only shows polished objects is lying about how anything gets made.

Thanks for walking through.
